Game of Life |
|
The Game of Life is not a game per se. It is an example of a cellular automaton that simulates life in its simplest form. It was invented by mathematician John Conway in 1970. |
There are many places dedicated to the Game Of Life on the Web. A very good explanation can be found at Math.com. |
One of the most comprehensive sites dedicated to the cellular automata is Mirek's Cellebration. It gave me lots of ideas for writing my applet. I also used many rules and patterns posted by Mirek. Credits also to Edwin Martin's John Conway's Game of Life. |
|
Here is my small contribution to the Life. It combines my interests in writing a Java applet, and playing the Life: finding numerous patterns and rules or being just mesmerized by watching generations of cells changing in front of my eyes. |
Select a pattern from the list or create your own. Select a pre-set rule or invent one. Watch a pattern grow forever or become stable and then with one click of the mouse destroy an order and create a new explosion of life. |
Enjoy!!! |
